Germany Frankfurt Mission Transition
Dear missionary families,
At this time of transition in the Germany Frankfurt Mission, we would like to express our deep gratitude for the service of President and Sister Boyer. They have done an outstanding job and will be missed, but we wish them and the best in their future endeavors. We love and appreciate them.
Due to the current pandemic restrictions regarding travel from the United States and other countries outside the European Union, President and Sister Hammon are unable to enter Germany at this time. As German natives who live close to Frankfurt, the Brethren have very recently asked us to step in and serve as interim president and companion effective 1 July until that condition is resolved. We feel blessed and are excited about this opportunity to serve and learn.
Since you will be hearing from and about us from time to time, it is appropriate that I introduce my wife Margret and myself. We live in Darmstadt, Germany, about 30 minutes south of Frankfurt. I currently serve as an area seventy in the Europe area and have previously served as President of the Frankfurt and Heidelberg Stakes, and my wife and I have five children. Margret has spent the last 20 years serving with the youth in various callings. Both of us have served missions, and we love working with the missionaries.
As we live in the area, we have already met some of your precious sons and daughters. We enjoyed their spirit and have truly grown to appreciate them, as the messages they have taught in our home were uplifting and fun for our younger children. We know they have been keeping up the good work during these difficult months, as well as your parents have. We feel strongly that we are all in this together and are excited to move this important work forward. Nothing can stop this work from progressing!
We would like you to know that we truly love our missionaries, and their well-being is our top priority. We love the Lord, and it is a joy and privilege for us to serve Him. We know that he lives. We will make sure that your children know, that we know! Much good is going to happen if we all turn our hearts to Christ and "Hear Him".
