spicy bread YUM

 Heyyyyy waddup everyone??

Teaching:

S. We meet with him this Saturday! So we'll get an update about his prayer about baptism!

F. We're trying to meet with him but he's SO busy with school.

E. Still great! He's visiting his family for the next week so we won't meet till he's back.

L. He's still busy with all of the suing his work stuff so we're not quite at the top of his priority list haha but that will be clearing up in a couple weeks so that'll be great!

L. We met with her in person! She's so cute. Hopefully she'll be coming to general conference with us!

G. This guy is so funny, we've met with him twice this week and are meeting with him tomorrow to give him a french Book of Mormon!

M. He'll hopefully start reading the Book of Mormon soon, he was very interested in what it was so that's cool.

B. Super cool as usual. His daughter didn't have any other creepy dreams this week. We had an AWESOME conversation about compassion and Christ-like love, it was seriously amazing.

R. Met with him in person!! We talked about the priesthood and baptism! It really was pretty cool, I don't think he understood what we were saying completely but we all felt the Spirit so that was good!

L. This is a new rando we found on the street, we haven't met with him yet so we're pumped for when that happens.

K. We met with him in person and talked a little bit about repentance and baptism, it was cool cause neither of us had any idea what he was saying but the Spirit was really translating for us. #mymantheholyghost

The Spicy Sacrament

So we haven't had the sacrament in a WHILE because our closest priesthood holder is like an hour away...soooo we got permission to have the sacrament at our district councils!! So after our district council we prepared for the sacrament and everything. Well Sister Cannon and I thought we had brought some pretzels, but it wasn't in the car. SO we went to the kitchen in the church building and found some bread!! We continue with the sacrament and they bring the bread around and I take a piece, put it in my mouth and feels like a spoonful of straight CINNAMON. So I turn to Sister Cannon and say "spicyyyy" with a face like 😲 and then we find out that the bread had been there for 8+ weeks...it wasn't moldy by some miracle and thank goodness it was blessed because we probably would have gotten sick if it wasn't lol.

Weekly Spiritual Dose

This week I wanna talk about LOVE. (say what??) I really want to talk to the people out there who may not have a family or group of friends to surround them & cheer them on. God is there! His Son is there! The Holy Ghost is there! Maybe pray and ask God how much He loves you, He will gladly tell you (: (if you don't feel like you get an answer, message me!)

Love you all so much!!

2. us with the German flag

3. the new district! (we're the coolest we know)

And Then I Was Possessed

Hey fam & friends & strangers. Haha jk I love you all.

Teaching

F. GUYS HE PRAYED!! and he got an answer!! When we first met this dude he had no idea who God was, and now he's talking to Him! How cool is that?

E. He came to church!! He's so awesome. We gave him a Book of Mormon and he was very honest with us about reading it. The only scripture he's ever read is the Quran so this will be a lot different for him. Also turns out he used to work with one of our members so they know each other? That's what you call a built-in fellowship-er haha.

L. Apparently he's suing his job? So he hasn't had a lot of time to meet with us, but he called us randomly last night and told us that before we leave he and his wife & daughter are going to have us over for dinner. He's from Jamaica so we're pumped to try some of that food.

S. We challenged him to pray about baptism last week, so we're excited to see his answer next time we meet with him (which will be soon).

G. A new friend!! He's awesome! We talked about the Book of Mormon for a while and read the introduction together. His first language is French, and ours is English so our conversations are a little interesting with all of our broken German haha. But, even though he keeps calling the Book of Mormon the Bible, he wants to know more about it! We also have a super cool member who speaks French and he's gonna help us out at our next lesson. We're pumped!

B. Okay this guy is AMAZING. He has so many questions and gives us one a week to study, it's so awesome! We met his daughter last week...a story on that later haha.

L. She's SO cute. She didn't pray with her daughter...so that was a little bit of a let down. But, we know that she feels the Spirit when we meet and that's all we need. It is the Spirit that helps people after all!

R. This guy is my fav, he's so funny! Plus he has some seriously great spiritual insights. As of right right now, he really likes being Catholic. But, there are so many questions he hasn't been able to answer his whole life and were hoping the Spirit can give him some answers about that.

L. We met this homie on the street and taught a lesson right then and there. It was so cool! He's very nice and we have a follow up with him tonight.

2 Junior Companions & The Gift of Tongues 🤑

This thing is real y'all!! Sister Smith left to Essen on Tuesday, and Sister Cannon and I have survived all the German haha! We did a whole ward council, and a couple of lessons all in German! It may have been a little rough (maybe very rough lol) but we did it! I've only been here for 2 months and Sister Cannon for 1 month. How in the world do we communicate in German?? The Holy Ghost - that's how. There's a scripture that says this better than I could. "For it shall be given you in the very hour, yea, in the very moment, what ye shall say. But a commandment I give unto you, that ye shall declare whatsoever thing ye declare in my name, in solemnity of heart, in the spirit of meekness, in all things. And I give unto you this promise, that inasmuch as ye do this the Holy Ghost shall be shed forth in bearing record unto all things whatsoever ye shall say." (insert mic drop).

The Title

Alrighty, so we met with our friend B over video call this week and his daughter came up to say hi and talk with us a little bit. Well this is how the conversation went (d stands for daughter):

d: hi guys!

us: hello! how are you?

d: good. I had a weird dream last night.

us: oh that's cool!

d: yeah I was just sleeping and saw a lady standing in my room. but she was just a shadow.

us: oh...wow that is weird.

d: yeah and then she fell into the floor like she disappeared. but then she came back and started walking towards me but i couldn't move.

us: oh my goodness...that's a little creepy...

d: well i could only move my head and then she possessed me.

B: what? i didn't know about that dream. that sounds really scary!

us: yeah holy cow! did that dream scare you?

d: not really. it's fine now.

and then she leaves and we're all like 😨

Weekly Spiritual Dose:

Well I kinda already talked about it, but the gifts of the Holy Ghost is what's been on my mind this week! In the temple, we make many covenants and promises with our Heavenly Father. One of them is consecration. Part of that is to use your talents that God has given you to further His work here on earth. What's His work? To love Him and love others. So, this week y'all should write a list of things you're good at and how you can use them to help other people. I'm excited for you guys!!

Anyways, I love you all so much! Somebody eat some Costa Vida for me. (:

Sister Rogers

Sorry...no pictures this week cause my phone is still in the hands of the lovely child of God who took it (:

Surprise, Surprise, Surprise!!

Howdy, today is my pday this week because we have to travel a lot tomorrow because WE'RE GETTING SISTER CANNON AS OUR NEW COMP!! y'all remember Sister Cannon?? She was one of my comps in England, so that's cool! There's so few of us here they're just recycling companions (; jk but we are SO excited for her to join us in good ol Würzburg.

Teaching

Alrighty so because of the weird laws and my genius mom, I've decided to use their initials! Just don't go being creepy and stalk anyone please & thanks (;

S. He's so busy!! But he's been reading the Book of Mormon a little bit which is good! We have a member who's going to help fellowship him and he's really excited for it!

R. He's amazing! This dude keeps on surprising us, apparently he like...won in a tennis tournament this weekend?? I don't really know. BUT he's really progressing with the gospel as well. He really wants to learn more and we're so excited about that.

A. This guy is a lil crazy but he wants to be baptized so whateva. He's actually got a really crazy story with the church! So he was baptized like 20 years ago or something but he really needed a job pretty soon after that and apparently the ONLY job available was a bus driver for the catholic church. In order to work for them he had to be baptized into that church which meant he had to take his records out of our church. BUT he really wants to be baptized back into this church and he has a great testimony of the Holy Ghost.

An. She's so cute!! She's a volunteer for work so her schedule is kinda all over the place but we're meeting with her this week!

L. She's literally adorable!! We can't quite figure out how to grasp her attention with the gospel...she has a daughter so we figured eternal families would be something that could benefit her if she'd like it. buuuuut apparently she doesn't like her parents so she didn't really like that. It was a little awkward but we recovered and we're meeting with her again tonight!

Y. This guy is literally hilarious and I love love love teaching him. He's so funny, and he's super nice about German! I love love love that cause I don't really understand German haha.

E. oh my goodness he's my favoritest. He's so adorable!! Last week we had talked about prayer and prophets and we sent him the link to President Nelsons video about gratitude so he could see who our prophet is and how we pray. HE WATCHED IT FOUR TIMES!! He gave us a literal play by play and told us how much he liked it. And then he asked us what we had planned the rest of the night and we told him about our family home evening/familie heimabend (FHA) where we play some games with our friends in the ward. We asked if he'd like to join and he was like "Yes!" So, he joined our family home evening thing and it was a little awkward cause only one member showed up lol but he had so much fun and even joined us for the prayer!!

Chocolate...oops

So Sister Smith's mom sent us a little box of chocolates and after we had both eaten a few we were thinking they tasted a little weird...so we're looking at the menu (because it was boujee chocolate so it came with its own little menu) and it turns out some of them have a lot of alcohol in them! Anyways that was pretty exciting haha.

Weekly Spiritual Dose

Gratitude!! It's amazing. It literally holds the power to change an entire situation! So I challenge y'all to watch President Nelson's video and then write down everything you're grateful for every day before you go to bed. It will be great, I promise!!

Love you all so much! Somebody watch Friends for me, thanks.

Something's Smoking

 Hallo hallo hallo!

Laws

Soooo apparently Germany has a law that we can't share any information about the people we teach sooooo just disregard the names I said before...they're fake or something lol (oops). Also we can't share pictures of the people we're teaching either so get ready for lots of pics of only Sister Smith and I haha.

Teaching!!

So we're trying to baptize our whole area, but it's not exactly going according to plan...yet 😉 But we had some good progress this week!!

1. So our one friend won't answer us back...awkward.

2. The other one we are inviting to be baptized next week!! Buuuut he doesn't live in our area apparently so we have to pass him off after the next lesson...so sad.

3. The one guy has been so busy with work that we haven't had a lesson in a while. BUT he read some of the Book of Mormon! We had marked it up with our fav verses and he read those, so hopefully he likes it!

4. Most of the lessons this week were with members and less actives since I don't know any of them...still don't cause the all spoke German (it's like I'm in Germany or sum) and I didn't understand a word but whateva, they seem nice!

New Friends!

Remember "Project English Connect" ?? Wellllll we found FOUR solid people from that this week!!

1. This one's my fav, she's so stinkin cute. She messaged about one of our English-Teaching posts and said she wanted to practice English AND learn about out church...like whaaaaa?? So that was cool. She's also the nicest person I've ever met (besides my mom) so that's cool.

2. She is also adorable!! We are going to meet with her in person next week so that's exciting! To practice her English we read an article from the Gospel Library with her the other day and she asked us so many questions about the plan of happiness and eternal families!! Very very cool.

3. THIS IS THE COOLEST ONE. Soooo like 3 years ago this guy saw some missionaries who gave him a Book of Mormon. And he saw our post and recognized the badge so he messaged us to practice English & German (he's from Mexico) well it turns out he read that whole Book of Mormon and believes it!! He was telling us all about how he loves the book and knows it's what he should live and follow...it was amazing. We're aboutta have a BOMB lesson with him next week.

4. This is our homie who refuses to call pickles anything but "salty cucumbers" and he's also the cutest person ever. He's just so sweet and genuine!! He wants to know more about our church and is SO interested in the modern day prophet thingy so we're pretty pumped about him.

I'm Deaf...I mean Blind...I Mean Both

So we were on our way to the church the other day (to mooch off the wifi yanno) and we start chatting with this guy at the cross walk. Well he turns around and listens up until he reads my badge and then he points to his ears like he's deaf. So Sister Smith does the sign for Jesus Christ & Faith, and he covers his eyes...? But then a lady across the street said hello to us as she was crossing the street and the dude turned around and said hi back. It was super awkward but then it got even more awkward when we all started to walk the same way 😂 alles gut though, we got the message.

The Language...?

This week I've noticed that for every new German word I learn, I forget 5 English words. So basically instead of bilingual I'll be coming home mute. Haha jk the language is coming! It might be slow but it's still improving!

The Title

So last night I was having a dream that I was on my sisters floor and there was a lot of smoke in the air so I yelled "SOMETHINGS SMOKING!!" But it turns out I yelled it in real life and woke myself AND my comp up. So now we're both half awake and she's like "...what??" As she's freaking out in her head cause she thinks somethings buring (ptsd from the panini press maybe??) And I'm like "...hm?" (still processing the crazy dream I was just having) and she's like "...are you awake?" And in my head I said "no not really" but out loud it sounded like "mmhamnmdmm." So basically we're going nuts #sendhelp.

Weekly Spiritual Dose

A lot of the people we've come across these past couple of weeks don't have an interest in the gospel, but they remember the missionaries being so nice. It's really all about planting those seeds, and not just any seed but a GOOD one. Every. Single. Interaction is a chance to change someone's life. That could be a good or bad thing, but I hope y'all make it a good one!!

Love & miss all your cute faces!!

And Yet Another Shower Problem

Hey hey hey!! This is gonna be quick cause I don't have a ton of time!!

The Shower duh duh duhhhh

So we fixed our shower! After a HUGE glob of hair and flower and soap. But...the shower in our new apartment doesn't drain...or have hot water haha. That's okay it's temporary 😂

Panini Press/Smoker/Freezer

So the day we got to our new apartment we decided to try out the panini press, but then we started warming it up and IT STARTED SMOKING!!!! So the fire alarm starts going off and Sister Smith is fanning the fire alarm with a pillow and yelling "SISTER ROGERS PUT IT OUT THE WINDOW" but it was still smoking so I didn't wanna hang it out the window on the 6th floor so I put it on our lil patio. But anyways we go in with our night and we're going to bed 3 hours later and THE PANINI PRESS IS STILL ON THE PATIO...AND COVERED IN SNOW. needless to say, we won't be using the panini press haha.

Teaching!!

Patrick: This bro straight up called us last week and ASKED to have a conversation about Jesus. And then we did, and it was amazing!! And THEN he came to church!! And he's amazing.

Stephan: HES SO COOL!!! And he helps us with our German so that's super nice. He also really loves the Book of Mormon and can't wait to read it!! We are so excited for our next lesson!!

Emmanuel: Emmanuel loves this gospel!! Buuuuut he's not really grasping the details. So we had planned to share a baptismal invitation and then he started talking about the trinity...soooo we talked about that again 😂

Project English Connect

In Texas we had a lot of success with teaching people English but spiritually surrounded and my comp and I are trying to get that up and running here! Everyone already learns English in school but we offer to practice it with them by reading scriptures or something. It's super cool!!

Weekly Spiritual Dose

I studied hope this week and it was amazing!! I learned that it is the complete trust in God to do what He asks. Isn't that cool? So saying "I hope that works out" really means "I trust in God that it will work out." Pretty cool right?

Love you all so much!

Flour in the Shower

Hey hey hey! It's y'alls fav Texan/English/German missionary emailing from good ol' Würzburg.

The Drunk Guy

Okay so we rode the train from Frankfurt to Würzburg and there was this drunk guy talking to the elders behind us. They were doing great at watching him take his jacket on and off to show them his tattoos. It was very entertaining until it was our stop and I started walking away and the drunk dude grabbed my bag and yanked me back. Then he grabbed my hand and started speaking german to me like SUPER close. I was lowkey freaking out but it's fine cause my new comp Sister Smith came and saved me haha.

My New Comp!!

So Sister Smith is super duper cool!! She's from Maryland and it turns out her uncle was my junior high German teacher!! Super duper crazy how small the world is. We have so much fun!! Almost everything but the grocery stores are closed so we have to come up with some creative ways to do the work. She is super duper cool and knows a whole lot of German which is great cause I don't haha.

The Area

Like I said a lot of things are closed here, so there's not much we can do besides riding the bus and contacting people while we go wherever we need to go haha. It's very different than Texas cause the people aren't as friendly and they all speak German...so that's a bummer cause I don't lol. But we have a huge list of people we're teaching (mostly people that don't live in Germany) and it's sooooooooo nice to be teaching and working again and just plain out of quarantine haha.

The Shower Drain...

So one of the sister missionaries that used to live in our apartment washed her hair with flour...I don't know how or why but she did and now our drain doesn't drain at all. Anyways so we've messed around with it a bunch and we've tried toilet cleaner thingies and other stuff but nothings worked. Anyways the housing Senior Missionaries told us to put dishwasher-soap. Well everything they said was in German so we misunderstood and put dish-soap in it...we just did that today soooo I'll put an update in next week about what it's done to our shower haha.

Weekly Spiritual Dose

Alrighty this one is gonna be super short!! But I want ALL of y'all to start doing Come, Follow Me. If you don't know what that is, where to find it, how to do it, or have any other questions, email me or contact your local missionaries (: As President Nelson said "Ask the missionaries, they can help you!"

Love you so much! Talk to ya next week!

Haunting in Frankfurt

 Hey hey hey y'all!!

Karl (the entity)

Okay so we're lowkey haunted...like windows open themselves and chairs move and motion lights turn on when no one is there...but it's okay cause we went to the temple today and the only ghost there is the Holy Ghost (;

THE TEMPLE

YALLLLLLL we got to go to the Frankfurt temple to celebrate the end of 5 1/2 weeks of quaranternity!!! It was the PERFECT way. Ah I just love love love the temple. It's literally the greatest place ever. Alsoooo something cool I learned from my homie President Nelson is that the temples are a great reflection of our bodies. They are each unique and yet each one has a stunning presence. Every temple and every person is viewed as utterly and divinely precious to our Heavenly Father. However the temples wouldn't be so perfect and clean without the constant and careful maintenance. And in order to be as holy as one of those temples we also need that constant and careful maintenance of our spirituality. Y'all should think about one thing you can do just a TINY bit better this week. Building a perfect temple takes time!! The Salt Lake Temple took 40 years and they're even working on it again!! I love that. We aren't expected to be perfect now. But we are expected to give all our effort. One of my favorite companions and best friends Sister Brady (love you bro) told me something very very wise a while ago. He asks us to give all we can -- in other words 100% of what we have each day. But some days we only have 80% or 50% or even 15% to give. So give 100% of all you have that day. That's all He asks. And guess what?? If you're struggling with anything at all, He would love to hear about it and help you with it. He (God) is pretty amazing.

Nothing Exciting

Basically this week has been pretty dull besides studying and studying and more studying. I know you'll be surprised to hear but I am not fluent in German yet...but I'm trying!! Thank goodness for an all-knowing God who still hears and answers my prayers in gibberish German haha. But I promise next week I'll have a whole lot to talk about!!

Transfers

Kinda boring transfer this time, I'm not going to any different countries or anything /: haha just kidding I'm going to an area called Würzburg!! I'm SOSOSOSOSOSO excited to actually get out into Germany and meet the people!! It was the Lord's plan so that means it has to be amazing. But my new comp is Sister Smith, she's been out 11 months and I'm so excited to meet her!!

Shout Outs 😏

1. HAPPY 16TH ASHLYN!! Love your face

2. MY FAV ELDER (Elder Banks) HELPED BRING AN AMAZING WOMAN CLOSER TO CHRIST THROUGH THE WATERS OF BAPTISM THIS WEEK!!

3. MY SISTAS BABY IS A BOYYYYYY

4. Shout out to me for guessing the babies gender (dub)

Anyways, sorry not a lot of mission stuff happened this week. There will be more next week!! Love y'all so much!

#smuggled

 Hallo hallo!!

Jokes Hehe

Remember last week when I was like "we won't go to Germany for at least another 2 weeks" ??? Well PSYCH I'm in Germany 😂 it was a CRAZY ride. I sent out my email on Friday evening and then later that night we were on a call with the MTC President and his wife and they told us they were sending 8 missionaries out the next day (Saturday) and then 24 on Sunday and the rest on Monday. Then like 3 minutes later someone came and got our passports and told us we would be leaving on Sunday. Sooooo we were up until like 2 packing and filling out paperwork lol and then Saturday morning all 24 of us went and got tested for corona.

Miracle #1

Every single person in the MTC tested negative!! It's like we were quarantined for 3 weeks or something haha. Before we got tested they gave us our flight itineraries and we found out I was flying separately than Sister Cannon and Sister Winder which was SUPER sad but I would be flying with Sister Merrill (who's a beast) and Elders Hiatt and Stettler. Anyways, we were the first flight out on Sunday which meant we left the MTC at midnight and drove for 4 hours to the London Airport. Our flight didn't leave until 9:30 so we were only like 5 hours early lol. But that turned out to be a HUGE blessing.

Miracle #2

We were delayed for a couple hours because the bag checker people refused to let us fly. We said a TON of prayers and then the lady we were talking to finally agreed to call the German border and ask them if we were okay to fly with all the extra covid stuff. Then we waited and waited until about 8:00 and she told us we were good to fly!!

Miracle #3

After that we checked our bags and found out Europe only allows a 20lb carry on...mine was not 20lb 😂 but the lady told me that she loved Jesus too and to not worry about my bag because she would pay for it. Like what??? I tried to pay for it but she insisted. I wish I had a Book of Mormon or pass-along card with me!! Anyways that was a HUGE blessing.

Miracle #4

After checking our luggage all 4 of us passed security and went to go get some freakishly expensive & tiny servings of food. Then we got some London things #tourist. Then we borded the flight! I was feeling great about Germany until the lady came on to make announcements and I was like "what language is she speaking?? That sounds nothing like German" lol it was German #anxiety. Anyways I was next to a guy going to his first deployment in the middle east but would be staying in Germany for a little. We talked a little about religion and I taught him how to ask where the bathroom is in German haha. He was super cool!! Anyways, we landed and each went through security. The border didn't give us any trouble (the night before 2 sisters had been interrogated for 2 hours each before making it through😳) and we were on our way!! The officer checking my passport saw my badge and started speaking in German...it was terrifying. Anyways we got our luggage and President and Sister Hammon met us outside to take us to the Frankfurt temple housing.

God's Plan

This super cool guy named Pieter gave Sister Merrill and I a ride to our rooms and helped us get all situated. I found out I would be rooming with Sisters Cannon, Winder and Gilmour (my MTC comp!!) as soon as they got here. I was so pumped!! It was only gonna be 5 days but I couldn't wait to have my old comps back haha. BUT God had a different plan for us. Sister Gilmour called me and said they'd been turned away in England and weren't allowed to board so they were gonna try again the next day. My other comps texted and said they were told the same thing. So the next day I called Sister Cannon and Winder to see how it was going and Sister Cannon picked up and said they were on the plane ready to fly out and the flight attendant told them the Elders they were with had gotten a call to not board the flight. So they got off the plane and were told by Bro. Pattenden (the guy who runs the England MTC) that Germany's border won't be allowing missionaries in until the 20th and even then it's highly unlikely they'd let them in. All 4 of those missionaries were obviously very disappointed, they were so close!! But Sister Cannon and Sister Winder stayed positive and hoped for the best. I love them both so much! So that night the missionaries stuck in England were all reassigned to different missions in England! Please please please keep them in your prayers!! We want them here in this mission and they want to be here too. HOWEVER, I know that for a divine reason they are needed in England. And for a different divine reason I am needed in Germany at this time.

New Comps!

Sooo since all 3 of my comps were stuck in England, I got moved into the room with Sisters Izatt and Mace! They are so awesome!! They're both right out of the MTC but have hit the ground running -- even stuck in quarantine!! I've loved getting to know them, new comps are always so fun!

Quarantine!!

Last Tuesday was officially 4 weeks in quarantine (yippee) and we found out our 5 days of quarantine in Germany will turn into 10....(yippee ×2). Which means I will have officially been in quarantine for 5.5 weeks at the end of this haha. I will NEVER sit at home again. Even though quarantining for that long sounds awful, it honestly hasn't been that bad. Sisters Cannon & Winder & I spent a lot of time teaching, studying and working but we laughed 100% of the time. We also spent a good amount of our time moving the furniture, admiring Kirby, coming up with different Nutella concoctions, and working hard on some raps. We perfected one and recorded it in 1.5 hours the night before I left (see attached) its a MASTERPIECE. And Germany quarantine is boujee y'all. Like we've got a plethora of food, an entire floor to ourselves, and restaurant-catered food every night. We are so blessed and SO spoiled by our good friend Pieter.

Weekly Spiritual Dose

Today I just want y'all to consider adding our lovely missionaries in England to your prayers. Only 14 missionaries made it and 34 are still in England. We have so many areas closed here and so many people within those areas that need to hear this message of hope and happiness!! Please pray that they can make it here so we can teach ALL of God's children.

Ich liebe euch!!

Travel to Germany

 Dear Missionary Parents,

I know that your missionaries have been in regular contact with you, but Sister Ostler and I wanted to reach out to you and let you know how impressed we are with the faith, courage, and goodness of your missionary sons and daughters. You would be SO proud of them!

As you know, they have been in quarantine for the past 3.5 weeks, and although they are in nice apartments on temple grounds, very safe and with healthy food to eat, the situation has really exercised their patience.

The laws and regulations of the countries of Europe have been constantly changing as Covid cases have risen dramatically and as the hospital systems in some of the countries have come under pressure. This has made travel between England and Germany or Slovakia much more difficult. In spite of this, with great faith and courage, several missionaries entered Germany this week. They are questioned at border control at the airport, sometimes for 15 minutes and sometimes for a couple of hours, but so far all have been permitted to enter. They are entering as “essential worker” church volunteers. The big question at the border is whether or not missionaries are “essential”  and whether it is safe to admit anyone who has been in England (where the virus has spiked). The border police are simply trying to do their jobs and our sweet missionaries are doing their best to exercise faith and make their way in.

The missionaries are never in any danger. Everyone is quite respectful even though they can be very thorough.

Mission presidents or other church representatives are always waiting patiently on the other side of the border control area for the missionaries to come through. All of the missionaries have electronic devices so that they can be in contact throughout this process.

As the rest of the missionaries leave England and enter Germany over the next few days, if some of them are rejected, they would simply fly back to England where they would work with missionaries in the British missions until the next opportunity comes to go back.

We ask you, whether your missionary has already entered Germany or is waiting to go, to plead with the Lord to be with these missionaries during this time. We have seen many miracles and we believe in more miracles to come. The Lord has a great work for them to do. They are young, but they have great spiritual power.

Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions.

Sincerely,

President Creg D. Ostler

 Hey y'all!

Germany

TWO elders from the MTC made it to Germany!! There was a lot of confusion at the borders but they made it in (legally lol) and then literally right after that the German government announced they would be extending the restrictions on the borders. Sooo that means the rest of us won't be going there at least for another 2 weeks but it was still good news that someone made it!!

What Now?

The talk is that we'll be reassigned to missions in England but we actually have no clue haha. Things are finally moving though and it looks like we'll be getting out of the MTC eventually if its not to Germany.

The Toilet.../:

We have 2 toilets in our apartment (thankfully) but one of them you have to like...pump the handle to get it to flush. Ooor you have to stand on the tub and put like all of your weight on the handle. Anywho Sister Cannon always really struggled with it and then it stopped working haha. So we tried to fix it but England toilets are different than America's (crazy how that works) and we ended up having a dude come fix it. It flushes now but you still have to kinda jump and push down as hard as you possibly can haha...I'll update y'all if the handle breaks off.

Bomb Shelter? Nah, Covid Shelter

We're #boredoutofourminds and built a fort!! That's what the weird pictures with the cheetos are.

Frank

Frank ran from us ): but then we saw him again and he gave us lots of loves. But then he poked Sister Winder with his claw and it freaked her out so he ran lol

THOMAS IS GETTING BAPTIZED!!!

lol jk Thomas is actually my brother Tanner acting as a German guy so we can practice teaching the lessons in German. Haha gotcha.

Real Lessons

We've been able to sit in on some lessons with our virtual companions in Heidelberg!! It kinda makes us super duper stressed but it's soooo nice to actually use the language we've been studying for 5 months haha. We had a pretty BOMB lesson with this dude Ali who we taught that Jesus Christ is not on a prophet but also the Son of God. It was awesome!! We didn't know what was going on most of the time but the gift of tongues is REAL and Sister Cannon bore her testimony of Jesus Christ at the exact moment he needed it. It was so amazing.

Escaping Prison

England is now on SUPER strict lock down because they've been having 50,000+ new cases each day...it's bad. BUT before the new rules (we can only leave our room once a day now) we would go on walks on the temple grounds and down to the canal in our jogging route. It snowed the other day and it was SO pretty so that's why there's a million pictures of it.

Weekly Spiritual Dose

My cute friend Nicole sent me the sweetest message on the day we found out we weren't going to Germany anytime soon. It completely lifted my spirits and changed my whole week. Do you guys ever have those tiny thoughts to text someone or even just wave at someone? I know I do and unfortunately more often than not I push them aside. This week I'm going to TAKE ALL THE PROMPTINGS!! And my challenge is for y'all to take them as well. Let me know your experiences!

That's it for this week! Sorry there's nothing super exciting lol. Love you all!!
