Hey fam & friends & strangers. Haha jk I love you all.
Teaching
F. GUYS HE PRAYED!! and he got an answer!! When we first met this dude he had no idea who God was, and now he's talking to Him! How cool is that?
E. He came to church!! He's so awesome. We gave him a Book of Mormon and he was very honest with us about reading it. The only scripture he's ever read is the Quran so this will be a lot different for him. Also turns out he used to work with one of our members so they know each other? That's what you call a built-in fellowship-er haha.
L. Apparently he's suing his job? So he hasn't had a lot of time to meet with us, but he called us randomly last night and told us that before we leave he and his wife & daughter are going to have us over for dinner. He's from Jamaica so we're pumped to try some of that food.
S. We challenged him to pray about baptism last week, so we're excited to see his answer next time we meet with him (which will be soon).
G. A new friend!! He's awesome! We talked about the Book of Mormon for a while and read the introduction together. His first language is French, and ours is English so our conversations are a little interesting with all of our broken German haha. But, even though he keeps calling the Book of Mormon the Bible, he wants to know more about it! We also have a super cool member who speaks French and he's gonna help us out at our next lesson. We're pumped!
B. Okay this guy is AMAZING. He has so many questions and gives us one a week to study, it's so awesome! We met his daughter last week...a story on that later haha.
L. She's SO cute. She didn't pray with her daughter...so that was a little bit of a let down. But, we know that she feels the Spirit when we meet and that's all we need. It is the Spirit that helps people after all!
R. This guy is my fav, he's so funny! Plus he has some seriously great spiritual insights. As of right right now, he really likes being Catholic. But, there are so many questions he hasn't been able to answer his whole life and were hoping the Spirit can give him some answers about that.
L. We met this homie on the street and taught a lesson right then and there. It was so cool! He's very nice and we have a follow up with him tonight.
2 Junior Companions & The Gift of Tongues 🤑
This thing is real y'all!! Sister Smith left to Essen on Tuesday, and Sister Cannon and I have survived all the German haha! We did a whole ward council, and a couple of lessons all in German! It may have been a little rough (maybe very rough lol) but we did it! I've only been here for 2 months and Sister Cannon for 1 month. How in the world do we communicate in German?? The Holy Ghost - that's how. There's a scripture that says this better than I could. "For it shall be given you in the very hour, yea, in the very moment, what ye shall say. But a commandment I give unto you, that ye shall declare whatsoever thing ye declare in my name, in solemnity of heart, in the spirit of meekness, in all things. And I give unto you this promise, that inasmuch as ye do this the Holy Ghost shall be shed forth in bearing record unto all things whatsoever ye shall say." (insert mic drop).
The Title
Alrighty, so we met with our friend B over video call this week and his daughter came up to say hi and talk with us a little bit. Well this is how the conversation went (d stands for daughter):
d: hi guys!
us: hello! how are you?
d: good. I had a weird dream last night.
us: oh that's cool!
d: yeah I was just sleeping and saw a lady standing in my room. but she was just a shadow.
us: oh...wow that is weird.
d: yeah and then she fell into the floor like she disappeared. but then she came back and started walking towards me but i couldn't move.
us: oh my goodness...that's a little creepy...
d: well i could only move my head and then she possessed me.
B: what? i didn't know about that dream. that sounds really scary!
us: yeah holy cow! did that dream scare you?
d: not really. it's fine now.
and then she leaves and we're all like 😨
Weekly Spiritual Dose:
Well I kinda already talked about it, but the gifts of the Holy Ghost is what's been on my mind this week! In the temple, we make many covenants and promises with our Heavenly Father. One of them is consecration. Part of that is to use your talents that God has given you to further His work here on earth. What's His work? To love Him and love others. So, this week y'all should write a list of things you're good at and how you can use them to help other people. I'm excited for you guys!!
Anyways, I love you all so much! Somebody eat some Costa Vida for me. (:
Sister Rogers
